The Law of Norsex is the only non-Canadian Law following Nortenland's entry into isolation.

The Law of Norsex or more commonly referred to as Norsex is a Law within the Kingdom of Nortenland. Norsex was the first Law to be founded in Nortenland and at the time of its foundation it was known as the Province of Norsex before the full adoption of Nortennish English. Norsex was for a short time considered for the position of capital of Nortenland, until the foundation of Fieldwark. Norsex was occupied and annexed by the Commonwealth of Faltree on 10 April 2024, thus ceasing to exist as a Law of Nortenland.

Etymology

Norsex gets its name from the Anglo-Saxons, literally meaning "Saxons of the North". Norsex's naming convention is identical to the English counties of Essex, Middlesex, Sussex, and the Anglo-Saxon Kingdom of Wessex. A Law in the context of a Nortennish territory comes from the ancient English method of classifying regions based on whose law they adhere to, such as Danelaw.

History

Founding

The Foundation of Norsex began when the King of Nortenland Wolfric I and the now Firstlord of Norsex Jebediah Odovacar convened to come up with the concept of Norsex. Upon the foundation of Nortenland with the Declaration of Independence[1] Norsex began to unofficially exist. Norsex wouldn't be officialized until 18 February 2022 when the King signed the "Bidding to fully astell the Law of Norsex". The bidding outlined Norsex's territory and some capabilities of Norsex as a Nortennish Law.[2]

Participation in Abdication Crisis

Following the outset of the Abdication Crisis, the Firstlord of Norsex took a large part in attempting to stabilize Nortenland and reinforce Nortennish values. The Firstlord of Norsex, with the consent of the abdicated Wolfric, declared the independence of Norsex in protest of Baldwin's Kingship.[3] Norsex would rejoin Nortenland after the abdication of Aeyphix, where the Firstlord of Norsex was instrumental in the reappointment of King Wolfric I.
