The Nationalist Party of Eastasia was center to center-right political party that operated within the Republic of the Union of Eastasia from 2 March 2021 to 4 May 2021. It was the first right wing party to ever exist in Eastasia, and many consider it to be the precursor to the rise of the right wing in Eastasia.
History
Founding
The Nationalist Party of Eastasia was founded on 2 March 2021 by Betim Alban and Matt Laptev, as a representative of the right wing minority in Eastasia. They were also the first right wing party to be established in Eastasia.
Dissolved
After about a month of being elected into the United National People's Assembly, the Chair of the NPE Betim Alban mysteriously disappeared, without any warnings or reason stated. The NPE's membership also stagnated, seeing no new member joining after two months. With Betim Alban gone, the NPE dropped below the standard membership count of 2 required for a political party. The only other member Matt Laptev, elected as a popular representative in Yungshin Commune, renounced his membership and became an independent. Alban's departure also triggered a snap election, with Ariel Lederman (Independent) and Angus Dunn (ESDP) competing for the 17th seat, and Angus Dunn was elected as a ESDP delegate.
Effect on Eastasian politics
Many consider the Nationalist Party of Eastasia to be the precursor to a rise of the right wing in Eastasia, and some even hypothesized that if Alban never left Eastasia, they might have become a threat to the three leftist parties. Current UNPA delegate Angus Dunn (REF) has stated in an interview with Eastasian Broadcasting Union: "The Nationalist party had great potential, unfortunately it was cut short by Mr Alban's departure, but his departure allowed for my political rise and upon the grave of the NPE, Reform Eastasia has been built." Reform Eastasia is seen by some as the successor to the Nationalist Party, though Reform Eastasia is more moderate than the NPE.
Policies and Platforms
Due to its short existence, the NPE never officially announced any policies they would like to see implemented in Eastasia. Though Betim Alban and the party has shown interest in the following.
- Anti-abortion
- Political satire, directed at the left wing parties
- Nationalist foreign policy
