History

The position of National Treasurer had de facto existed since the merger of Leylandiistan and Gurvata in August 2014. Its main function was to collect and store taxes. The tax revenues were stored in a locked container, whose key was held ceremonially by the National Treasurer. The only tax citizens of Leylandiistan & Gurvata had to pay was the National Contribution Charge, a sum of €2 which was paid once a month to the Treasury. The Treasury also assisted the Governmented draft the National Budget once a year. The National Treasurer acted as a kind of finance secretary, and advised the government on economic issues.
