Sankara, officially the Municipality of Sankara (Italian: Comune di Sankara), was a municipality in the Pinangese of Metropolitan Pinang. Before its dissolution, Sankara had two inhabitants and was composed of five exclaves. It was considered to be one of the centers of the Pinangese economy, with its agricultural and artisanal products and its fishing activities. It was located approximately 300 meters from the Constantian territory of Tinella.
Etymology
The name Sankara comes from the African anti-imperialist and revolutionary Thomas Sankara.
Geography
Sankara was located in the north-western part of Italy and it bordered with the Italian region of Lombardy. It was made up of five exclaves.
Government and Politics
The mayor of Sankara was appointed by the Governor of Metropolitan Pinang.
Economy
The Sankarian economy is primarily based on agriculture of vegetables, fishing and artisanal production.
