Monarchist Council Party (MoC-P) is a political party in Versmark that advocates for Monarchism, Leftism and Anti-Reactionaryism in the country. The party was founded in may of 2023 and has since then been a vocal supporter of the monarchy and left wing values and initiatives. It is currently the largest, and only political party in the nation.
History
The Monarchist Council Party was founded in 2023 a small group of left-wing monarchists, it is Versmark's first political party.
The word "Council" comes from the fact that most, if not all members also are members of the CNPI, the council that shaped the country in its early days and wrote the constitution. The addition of the word also distinguishes the party from other monarchist parties that are typically right wing.
Ideology
The party believes that the current sovereign is fit and sound to govern the country, as he or she represents the continuity and stability of the nation. The party also believes that the monarch has a duty to promote the country's culture and traditions, and to serve as a symbol of national unity.
The MoC-P's left-wing stance sets it apart from other monarchist movements, which are often associated with conservative or reactionary values. The party believes that a monarchy can be compatible with progressive policies and that the monarch can play a role in promoting social justice and equality.
Despite its left-leaning stance, the MoC-P remains committed to its ultimate goal of upholding the monarchy in Versmark. The party argues that the monarchy as the best form of government for the country and believes that it can provide stability, continuity, and a sense of national identity that democracy and republicanism cannot.
Leadership
The current chair of the Monarchist Council Party is Count Q. Wingfield, who has held the position since 2023. He was Lehmark's minister for culture at the time of dissolution who has been involved in Versmark since its inception, and is widely regarded as one of the most influential monarchists in the country.
