The Molossaphone is a mirliton Molossian instrument that is similar to a kazoo. The national instrument of Molossia, it is played by vocalising into it which adds a buzzing timbral quality to the player's voice. A woodwind instrument, the Molossaphone is a membranophone. It is played at ceremonial occasions in the micronation.

It was adopted as the national instrument of the Republic of Molossia in 2007, after President Kevin Baugh noted that the then-national instrument, wine chimes, could not be played by humans. Thus, the kazoo was renamed the Molossaphone and selected as the new national instrument of Molossia.[1] 28 January is observed annually as Molossaphone Day.[2]
