The Metropolitan City of Kangarooville, colloquially known as Kangarooville, is a state in the Northern Agatonia district. It is located north of Sheffield and Gate-am-Agatonia, south of Norstoke and east of Western Half. It also borders La Cambria southbound, eastbound and westbound near the Northwestern Agatonia district and borders the Extreme North Somerley exclave northeastbound. As of September 2024, the state has a population of 2 within an area 52.96 m², making it Agatonia's second most populous state and Agatonia's largest state.

The state is home to Agatonia's national dish, chipquiche. It serves Agatonia's largest though 2nd busiest airport, Empress Sachiko I International Airport. The flag of Kangarooville is similar to that from the Netherlands, although Kangarooville's flag has a star in the middle. Kangarooville is the oldest state and settlement of Agatonia, founded on 19 April 2023, one day after the independence of the People's Republic of Agatonia.

Etymology

The name Kangarooville is a combination of one word and one suffix; Kangaroo and the French word ville, which means city.

Geography

The Metropolitan City Kangarooville lies on the northernmost district of Mainland Agatonia, Northern Agatonia. It borders Sheffield to the southeast, Gate-am-Agatonia to the southwest, Norstoke to the north and Western Half to the west. It also borders La Cambria southbound, eastbound and westbound near the Northwestern Agatonia district and borders the Extreme North Somerley exclave northeastbound. It is a transdistrictual state, in which a state is located in different regions rather than one.

Kangarooville historically entirely covered Mainland Agatonia, until the former city of New Montgomery declared independence from the city of Kangarooville. Then, New Montgomery was renamed to La Cambria and the People's Republic of Agatonia was divided into five regions (Italian: regioni). Two months after the dissolution of the People's Republic of Agatonia, La Cambria was divided into three settlements: La Cambria, Whiteport and Shrewsbury.

Settlements and the irregular time zone

The Metropolitan City of Kangarooville has six towns spread from west to east: Borderdale, Toledo, Kangarooville City, Airport District, Stonedale and St. Teresa's Hill. The two most popular towns are Kangarooville City and St. Teresa's Hill. The state has one single time zone, UTC+2:15 all year-round. Thus if it is 12:00 PM UTC, it is 2:15 PM Kangarooville Time (abbreviated as KANT). Kangarooville Time is considered as an "irregular time zone", as Agatonia has six time zones spread through the mainland and as the time zones all have a difference of ten minutes. Western Time (WEST, 2 hours ahead of UTC), Kangarooville Time and New Dorchester Time (DORT, 2 hours and 30 minutes ahead of UTC) all share a 15-minute difference between their time zones.

Politics

The head of government of the Metropolitan City of Kangarooville is the state head (do not confuse with the Head of State, the Monarch). The first and current state head is HE HOG President Kaito I of Agatonia. The Kangaroovillian government often cooperates with the highest governing body, the Agatonian Government. The Metropolitan City of Kangarooville is also one of the two founder states of the Federation of Agatonian States, a suborganization that has the goal to share state culture together and to cooperate governance in Agatonia, alongside with the state of La Cambria.
