The Maluhian-Pyrinthian War, or the Pyrinthian War of Annexation, was a conflict between the newly-formed Maluhian Republic and the military power, the Pyrinthian Empire.
The main war stretched on for a good hour or so, accompanied by three or four hours of minor skirmishes before the conflict.
Prelude
Tensions were noted to have been rising between the two micronations, due to the recent Fridenian Rebellion. The Pyrinthians saw this as a threat to their micronation, fearing that their citizens would also get revolutionary ideas. This, along with a Maluhian embargo on airsoft guns, (greatly affecting their munitions-based economy) sparked tensions between the two.
Shortly after the Maluhian embargo came into effect, A Maluhian Navy patrol intercepted and (temporarily) detained two Pyrinthian soldiers who were crossing into Maluhian waters. This enraged the Pyrinthians, who demanded the two soldiers be released. Maluhia did release them after two hours, after they had been interrogated. However, tensions skyrocketed, and Pyrinthian troops started amassing on the borders of Maluhia.
Another factor of the war was that the two sides had clashing ideologies, Pyrinthia being a military dictatorship (although rather democratic in its practises) and Maluhia being democratic.
The Declaration of War
A week after the incident at sea, Maluhia terminated all passports issued to Pyrinthian Nationals, and temporarily detained a Pyrinthian visitor suspected of planned terrorism. A Nerf Gun with 12 bullets and a gel pistol with license was found inside their bag, along with some zip ties in the making. This incident further heightened tensions between the two nations, and after three hours the Pyrinthian visitor was escorted out of the nation.
This was the final straw for the Pyrinthians, and shortly after the last visitor returned from Maluhia, they declared war, as the Pyrinthian military advanced into Maluhian Territory. After some border skirmishes, the bulk of the invaders reached Seestadt, the capital. The outnumbered defenders fought viciously, with particularly heavy casualties around the front yard. The government was evacuated to Silberstadt, as a Pyrinthian beach landing at Marley Beach was repulsed by waiting defenders. The defeated soldiers were intercepted on the way back to the dock, and taken as POWs.
A Defence at Silberstadt
The government had arrived at Silberstadt fifteen minutes before the assault, and hastily prepared defences. A detachment of three men were sent to Kholtgrad, the partially-completed capital.
After last-minute preparations, the Pyrinthian attackers arrived, and breached the first layer of defence, swarming into the large front yard, where they were pinned down by defenders clustered behold makeshift barricades. Any attempt at forming shield walls were swiftly repulsed by defenders firing down from balconies, and finally, the attackers formed a testudo out of cardborard shields. The assault punched through the barricades, and the remaining defenders retreated to inside the house. They hastily constructed a barricade out of furniture, holding the chokepoint of the foyer. The Pyrinthians coming through the door were pushed back by a fusillade of gel balls and nerf darts, and after a counterattack, the assault finished with a decisive Maluhian victory.
Siege of Seestadt and Battle of Constitution Park
Meanwhile, at Seestadt, the battle was still raging, as both sides suffered horrific casualties. The defenders’ ammunition stockpiles were running out, and both sides were exhausted from the battle. However, after the battle at Silberstadt, the victorious defenders had quickly refilled on supplies and rested, and after five minutes climbed into transports and bikes, setting off for Seestadt.
As the reinforcements arrived, they fought their way to the gates, where they were rushed inside, and took up positions. Thanks to the combined effort, the Maluhian militia was able to regain ground, and from a defensive barricade on a hill launched assault after assault on the Pyrinthian positions, with people providing covering fire form the balconies. Finally, after several ferocious assaults, the Pyrinthians were pushed back to Constitution Park, the nation’s biggest yard. Open fighting broke out, as the Maluhians slowly encircled the scattered Pyrinthians.
After 16 minutes, the Pyrinthians surrendered, and with that the war was over.
Surrender and Seestadt Convention
After the surrender, a treaty was signed by both sides, which handed possession of Pyrinthia’s overseas colonies to Maluhia and closely regulated their military, forcing the abandonment of airsoft weaponry.
The Seestadt Convention agreed to give up gel and airsoft weapons in exchange for more obtainable Nerf guns, which were safer. It also demanded war reparations be paid, and imposed a dictated truce on the Pyrinthians.
Post-war raids
Following the war, a number of discord raids took place, though Maluhia suffered minimal damage. The attacks lasted only three days, after which all spam messages were deleted.
