Overview

The MVFF World Cup 2017 will be the first edition of the MVFF World Cup. It will be organized by the Micronational Virtual Football Federation. It will either have 8 or 12 teams.The host will be the Polish Republic of Freeland after a landslide victory in the bidding process.All matches will be played at the Viten Arena which has a virtual capacity of 35,000.

Host selection

Three member micronations placed a bid to host the event.The Polish Republic of Freeland, and a joint bid of the Republic of Farrar and the Republic of New Saarland. On the 9th March 2017 in the MVFF motion room the voting for the World Cup and other events.The Polish Republic of Freeland was victorious after beating the joint Farrar Republican/New Saarlandian bid by two points.One vote was invalid as one member state voted for Coria which did not place a bid.

Host Stadiums

Both stadiums for the World Cup are in the Polish Republic of Freeland because they are the hosts.Two stadiums will be used with Viten Arena 2 being used mostly for the group stages.

Qualification

Qualification is to be implemented through 'small' competitions such as the DG Cup.But it is likely that participants will qualify through invitation.A 'wildcard' and 'most popular member' slot will be available. Coria was the first team to qualify through this process after winning the DG Cup.
