The Vishwamitran Ambassador to Baustralia (known formally as, The Ambassador of Vishwamitra to the Court of Saint Edward) is the official representative of the Rashtradhyaksh of Vishwamitra and the government of Vishwamitra to the monarch (Court of Saint Edward) and the government of Baustralia. The ambassador is appointed by the Rashtradhyaksh at the recommendation of the Minister of External Affairs. The position is held by former prime minister Ștefan Marius Snagoveanu who has been in office since 1 July 2024.

Unlike the representatives offices in the macronations, the diplomatic missions accredited to the recognized states are full-fledged and often non-residential. Vishwamitra established formal bilateral and diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Baustralia upon the signing of a treaty of mutual recognition on 11 November 2020 which culminated the weeks of deliberation to establish ties. Diplomatic missions were formally opened on 29 October 2023 and have since been regarded as one of the most prestigious posts in the Foreign Service due to the special relationship between both nations.

History

Flag of Baustralia

Informal relations between Vishwamitra and the Kingdom of Baustralia were established in September 2020 following contact between Rashtradhyaksh Varuna Sriraya and King John on matters related to the Royal Institute for Standardization. Formal bilateral relations were established on 11 November 2020 upon the signing of the Treaty of Rajagriha, through which both states formally recognized each other.

In a move to further strengthen the diplomatic relations between both states, both nations agreed to establish non-residential full-fledged diplomatic missions in both nations and reciprocate envoys of their highest rank to each other. Subsequently, George Davis was appointed as the first ambassador of Baustralia to Vishwamitra, while the same was reciprocated with the appointment of Ezekiel Ensor, the minister of state for external affairs, as the ambassador to the Court of Saint Edward.

Ensor was recalled back by the government on 22 June 2024, a move that was followed by Davis being recalled back as well by the Baustralian government following his nomination as Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs. After much deliberations, former prime minister Ștefan Marius Snagoveanu was appointed as the ambassador on 22 June 2024, and assumed office on 1 July 2024. Hankery Jenkinson, 1st Baron Jenkinson of Worthing was appointed as Baustralian Ambassador to Vishwamitra on 3 July 2024.

Duties

The ambassador's main duty is to present Vishwamitran policies to the government of Baustralia and its people, as well as report Baustralian policies and views to the federal government of Vishwamitra. The ambassador serves as a primary channel of communication between the two nations and plays an important role in treaty negotiations.
