The January 2023 Galway City gubernatorial election was the second election for the Governorship of Galway City. The first election was in June 2022, and since a governor’s term is three months, the second election was meant to happen in September 2022. However the election was delayed and cancelled. After the passing of the Provincial Government Act, the election was set for the 24th of January 2023.

Incumbent Governor Ludwig Collins was running for re-election, but lost to Purcell.
