The 2021 Australissian general election was the second election held in Australis. Held on 24 January 2021, it was the first election held since April 2020, mere weeks after the founding of Australis.
Background
Prior to the election, the meritocratic Government led by Chancellor Patrick Kenny was suspended by the Grand Duke of Australis, Daniel I, as a result of inactivity within the Government, implementing a provisional government, which would later come to form the Privy Council of Australis. The tasks of the provisional government were to redevelop and overhaul the nation's governance, in addition to commencing the writing of a new constitution. These tasks were deemed to have been successfully completed, following which the Grand Duke called an election for January 2021.
