The Impytish calendar is a calendar officially used in Impy. It was founded by King Son I. The principal change was to space leap years differently so as to make the average calendar year 365.2425 days long, more closely approximating the 365.2422-day 'tropical' or 'solar' year that is determined by the Earth's revolution around the Sun.

The rule for leap years is:

  • Every year that is exactly divisible by four is a leap year, except for years that are exactly divisible by 100, but these centurial years are leap years if they are exactly divisible by 400. For example, the years 1700, 1800, and 1900 are not leap years, but the year 2000 is.

The reason to establish the Impytish calendar is by cultural reasons.

Description

The Impytish calendar is a solar calendar with 12 months of 28–31 days each. The year in both calendars consists of 365 days, with a leap day being added to August in the leap years. The months and length of months in the Impytish calendar are the same as for the Julian calendar.

The only differences between Impytish calendar and Gregorian calendar is the Impytish calendar year started on 1 July in Gregorian calendar, year 1 in Impytish calendar started in year 2000 in Gregorian calendar (It means 1 January, 1 in Impytish calendar started on 1 July 2000 A.D in Gregorian calendar), the years before 1 in Impytish calendar is Year -1 and less (no year 0) and a leap day being added to August (Impytish calendar) in the leap years.
