The history of the Alsann Republic is a term defining the events occurring in the Alsann Republic since its founding on 9 September 2022.

Founding era

Alsann was founded on 9 September, 2022[a], by a group of former Concordian citizens. It was decided that prominent Alsanian, Kalan Cameron del Kersika, would take the role of Officer-General, a military-based head of state[1]. It was initially to be a principality, however that idea was swiftly abandoned. On 10 September, the first iteration of the Alsann Proclamation was made[b]A. The current heraldry of Alsann was created in the middle of September, having been sketched out by del Kersika prior. After much revision, the Alsann Proclamation was released to the public and formally published on 23 September[2].

Initial executive control

On 28 September, Officer-General del Kersika issued his first executive order, putting the Alsann Proclamation into full enforceable effect and mapping out most of the nation’s borders. His third executive order, issued on 2 October, was instrumental in Alsann’s growth, as it granted temporary citizenship and a sped up application process to former Concordians. It also established a formalised citizenship process, enabling better growth. 8 October saw the introduction of the Alsane News Service, subsidiary of the Alsann Central Media Association, whose first story was on the approval of a burn off[3]. The burn off never actually occurred. October 13 brought the introduction of the national currency, the Alsane mark[c][d] and subunit, the fenn[4][5]. Soon after, flags were created for Aeonia, Flinders, Kersika and Shetvik & St Alouarn (later given to Macleay Federal Territories)[6]. Military flags were also created the day before. 14 October also saw the change of the Council of Representatives to the Federal Council.

Setting up government

A focus on strengthening Alsann's Federal Council began in November 2022. The first executive order in November, on the eighth, created an initial list of unilaterally recognised nations, as well as assignment of the Environment and Foreign Divisions and the introduction of federal market socialism[7]. Similarly, the next order enabled funding of the Alsann Central Media Association, parent organisation of the Alsane News Service[8]. The next day saw an unprecedented shift in the Alsanian borders, with Flinders losing much of its southern territory and the dissolution of Shetvik & St Alouarn. Flinders did gain two new territories near its capital of Austeria, as well as the integration of the former islands of Shetvik & St Alouarn and small sand island Little Flinders into a new southern Flinders. Aeonia also gained the area of Mills near north-eastern Banyowla, pushing its territorial total to 10.16km2[9]. Finally, in what was viewed by the executive to be a final step before the opening of the Alsane Federal Council, Executive Order 13 established the Mail Carriers Service to provide secure military transportation for government documents[10].
