Aeonia, occasionally known as the State of Aeonia, is a federal state of the Alsann Republic. It seceded from the Commonwealth of Australia with Flinders and Kersika on 8 September 2022. It is located in the Darling Range, especially near the Canning River. It is governed by the Member for Aeonia in the Alsane Federal Council, Commander H Norman. It is the largest state and subdivision of Alsann.
History
Aeonia has had a history far longer than any other subdivision of Alsann. It seceded with Alsann on the day of its founding, September 8, 2022.
Concordian Republic
Aeonia was founded on June 30, 2021, when it seceded from Australia with the Concordian Republic. It was originally 189,500 metres, a size it quickly grew out of. On 6 September 2021, Aeonia was placed under the control of Governor Mackenzie Arra. It expanded 3 days later to include former territories of Carrolinux. On 21 November, the Aeonian War began when an annoyed Arra seceded from the Concordian Republic, creating the short-lived Republic of Aeonia. The war ended just twelve minutes later, after an invasion of the Concordian Republic's capital was attempted and repelled. The resulting Treaty of Aeonia then removed Arra from her position.
On 17 January 2022, new borders were created, expanding it down the river. On 17 March, the President called for a national election. It would result in the election of Aeonia's first democratic Governor. Between this announcement and the election, Aeonia also expanded nearly 1.95 million square metres into the hills. On 30 March, the election began, ending on 15 April with former governor Arra winning back the title.
Alsann
Following the reformation of the Concordian Republic following the Second Republic policies, Alsann was formed on 8 September. It immediately took in Aeonia, which was considered for a name change though later taken out of consideration. When the Concordian Republic was dissolved in favour of Alsann on 23 September, it ended nearly half a month of confusion over the relevant authorities. When the Alsane Federal Council was formed, Member for Aeonia Commander H Norman was given executive control over the state, governing from his home and state capital of Armisak. A burnoff was planned for 9 October, however it never went through. In the meantime, it also gained its own flag and coat of arms on 14 October.
Government
The state of Aeonia has no specific system of government. It is instead placed under the executive control of the Member for Aeonia, a democratically elected representative of Aeonia in the Alsane Federal Council. Since 23 September 2022, that role has been taken by Commander of the Army H Norman. For the most part, specific management of Aeonia is taken up by the relevant federal division, with some contributions by the Member.
Military
Aeonia is defended and accessible by nearly every branch of the military. As it is close to Kersika, the Kersik Guard is easily able to navigate the terrain and defend its southern borders on foot or light vehicle. Parts of it are also important testing areas for the army, and the air force conducts occasional aerial patrols of the area. Only the navy does not have consistent access, however during the winter water access is possible in the Aeonia Brook and contour channel.
Economy
Aeonia has always had a primarily resource-based economy. Its primary exports are all mining involved. Specifically, the government-owned corporation Aeonia Slate is responsible for the collection and export of shale, originally thought to be slate, and quartz.
