The Herzetian Insurgency was an internal armed conflict between Herzetia and a small group of jihadist insurgents. The conflict lasted two days, resulting in the forced abdication of the king of Herzetia and the dissolution of the nation, reformed into the First Grand Herzetian Caliphate shortly after.

Background

On August 1, 2020, the official Discord server for the insurgents was created, and the plans to begin a revolt within Herzetia were released. The planned date of the beginning of the internal occupation and invasion was August 8, at 12:00 AM PST.

Conflict

August 8

At exactly 12:00 AM on August 8, 2020, Insurgent troops entered the province of Dorimia and were easily able to take control of it, meeting no resistance. King Asher I was made aware of the invasion and announced it in the Herzetian Discord server, as well as in the Micronational Assembly

August 9

Early the next day, Insurgents entered Cordania and set up defensive positions in case they met resistance, which they did not. The King was away for the day and thus unable to participate in any combat. Once they had secured Cordania, the Insurgents marched through Kravia, Strauff, and Umbra and easily took them. By 4:12 PM, the Insurgency had taken all Herzetian territory.

Aftermath

After taking all Herzetian territory, the Insurgents forced King Asher to abdicate. Shortly afterward, the Kingdom was dissolved, and the Insurgency formed the First Grand Herzetian Caliphate, naming the former monarch Alkhalifat Aleazim Ashar al'awal (or Grand Caliph Asher I) and dissolving the Insurgency.
