History

Foundation and the First Republic (2020 - 2021)

The Great Republic of Catalia is a Communist Dictatorship Micronation founded by Menard Mateo Bajado on April 18th 2020 in the Philippines.

The Catalian War (July 16, 2021)

The fledgling nation faced its first major crisis on July 16, 2021, when political infighting escalated into a full-blown conflict known as the Catalian War. This civil war led to the disintegration of the First Republic and a period of chaos, fundamentally reshaping the political landscape of Catalia.

Establishment of the Dictatorship (November 16, 2021 - Present)

In response to the unrest, Menard Mateo Bajado declared the end of the republic and established a Communist Dictatorship on November 16, 2021, assuming the title of Supreme Leader. This move consolidated power under a single leadership, bringing an end to the political instability and ushering in a new era of strict governance. The transition marked the beginning of the Dictatorial Era, during which all aspects of Catalian society were reorganized under a centralized regime.

Government and Political Structure

Catalia is governed as a one-party state, with all political authority concentrated in the hands of the Supreme Leader and his appointed officials. The government is structured around a Congress consisting of two chambers:

1. Supreme People’s Assembly

– The upper house, responsible for approving major policies and providing oversight of the national leadership.

2. House of Governors

– The lower house, representing the interests of local regions and provinces under the central government’s control.

The Supreme Leader, currently Menard Mateo Bajado, holds absolute authority, supported by the Prime Minister, who oversees the executive branch, and the Admiral General, in charge of military affairs.

International Presence

Catalia is represented abroad through the Catalan International Association (CIA), which acts as the country’s primary diplomatic and intelligence organization. The United Catalan Federation (UCF) is a domestic institution aimed at promoting Catalian interests and values on the international stage.
