Grande Prairie is one of six Provinces in the Dominion of West Canada, it is most well known for being the location of the Athabasca Oil Sands, which provides oil for all of the Dominion. Grande Prairie was split from Alberta upon union of the Provinces of the Dominion of West Canada.
