The Gradonian Communist Party or formerly the Gradonian Socialist Party is a center-left to a left wing party within the State of Gradonia. The party's main ideals are for the abolishment of land property and for the collectivisation of essential commodities such as food, water, shelter, and healthcare. The party was founded to oppose capitalistic views and practices within Gradonia.
The Gradonian Communist party was founded by William Deal in an effort to dismantle the strong authoritarian government and install a direct democracy. The party managed to grow from three members to seven within one week. The then Socialist Party holds a strong opposition to the Gradonian Federalist Party, headed by President Wilson. The party would organize an attack against the President on May 30, 2018 after the President refused a petition by the party to collectivize all agricultural lands within Gradonia. Responsibility for the attack was claimed by William Deal, then president of the Socialist Party. Several days later President Wilson made a deal to release the detained party members who had carried out the attacks in exchange for Mr. Deal resignation as president of the Socialist Party. Mr. Deal would step down on April 1, 2018.
The party would elect Luiz Medina as the next president of the party on April 4, 2018. Mr. Medina would criticise the actions taken by his predecessor. The party was renamed on November 16, 2018 to the current Gradonian Communist Party. The party would take on a more political, less confrontational means of reform. In June, President Wilson approved a proposition to make all bodies of water within Gradonia publicly owned.
