The governor of the Bank of Baustralia is a civil service post, and the most senior post in the state-owned Bank of Baustralia. Originally held ex officio by the Lord High Treasurer, which is held itself ex officio by the Prime Minister, the governorship did not form a important role until it was separated in 2023.
The governor is most widely known as the officer of the civil service which authorizes bank notes, and their signature appears on the bank notes of the Baustralian boerc. From 2023, they also chair the financial committe of the developing privy council. Such commitee has yet to sit formally.
