Forrester Island

Forrester Island is an island off the coast of Marie Byrd Land, in Antarctica. It is an overseas territory of South Maudlandia, claimed on 31 July 2014. It was annexed due to being completely surrounded by sea, rather than an ice shelf, making it an ideal location for a sea port. The capital city is Port Wyne, located in the south-west of the island, at the western mouth of the Forrester Channel. It is approximately 65 km² in area by land only.
