Association football is the most popular sport in Georgienstine. The Georgienstinian Football Federation (GFF) is the national governing body and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of association football in the country. There is a football league with the Ligue de Georgienstine. Additionally, there are national cup competitions, such as the Coupe de Georgienstine and Supercoupe de Georgienstine. There are currently nine clubs in Georgienstine.

Georgienstinian clubs have won intermicronational trophies, such as the MAFA Continental Cup, Americas Cup and Super Cup. Nassau 162 won the Americas Cup in September 2023. The Continental Cup and Super Cup were both won by Palais Rose in November 2023. CF Raphaelistan won the Continental Cup in December 2023.

The Georgienstinian national team participated in the sole edition of the MAFA World Cup in July 2023, finishing fourth of five in the group stages and qualifying for the knockout stages.

Georgienstine was the host of the first and sole edition of the MAFA World Cup in July 2023. Matches were played in Castel in the National Capital Region and Salem in the state of Lévesque.

Football governance

The Georgienstinian Football Federation (GFF) is the national governing body and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of association football in the country and was formed on 12 March 2023. The GFF was accepted into the Micronational Atlantic Football Association (MAFA) on the day of its founding on 2 May 2023. MAFA's headquarters are in Castel in the National Capital Region.

Ligue de Georgienstine

The Ligue de Georgienstine is Georgienstine's main football league. The Ligue was established in March 2023 and eight seasons have taken place. CF Qaucasia and CF Raphaelistan have the most Ligue titles with two.

In February 2024, the Ligue adopted a new system, along with numerous reforms. Clubs were geographically divided into the Northern and Southern Conferences, playing each club in their conference twice, at home and away. At the end of the regular season, the team with the highest point total is awarded the Ligue de Georgienstine Shield. The regular season is followed by a postseason knockout tournament to determine the league champion. Six clubs participate in the Ligue de Georgienstine Playoffs, which conclude with the championship game.

Coupe de Georgienstine

The Coupe de Georgienstine is Georgienstine's main tournament. The Coupe was established in March 2023 and has taken place nine times. CF Qaucasia has the most Coupe titles with four. CF Augustine, CF Qaucasia and CF Raphaelistan have the most second-place finishes with two each. Palais Rose has the most third-place finishes with three.

The Coupe is a single-elimination tournament in which matches are decided in one leg. Prior to February 2024, matches were decided in two legs.

Supercoupe

The Coupe du président (formerly the Supercoupe de Georgienstine) is a monthly match played at the end of the season by the champions of the Ligue and Coupe de Georgienstine. CF Qaucasia has the most Coupe du président titles with three.

National team

The Georgienstinian national team participated in the first and sole edition of the MAFA World Cup in July 2023, which was hosted by Georgienstine. In the group stages, Georgienstine played the opening match of the tournament in Salem against Galway, drawing 2-2. In its second match, Georgienstine defeated Bryantia 2-0. Georgienstine lost its next two matches, losing Qardasha 1-0. and to Excelsior 1-0. Georgienstine finished fourth out of five in the group, with 4 points, 1 win, 1 draw and 2 losses, narrowly qualifying for the knockout stages.

In the knockout stages, an eliminator match was played against the 3rd and 4th ranked teams in the group, Georgienstine and Galway. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, which Georgienstine won 9-8 in a penalty shoot-out. In the qualifier match to determine which team would play in the final match against Bryantia, Georgienstine lost 4-1 to Qardasha. Qardasha defeated Bryantia 2-1 and won the tournament.

Georgienstine is currently playing in the first edition of the MAFA Nations League in December 2023, sitting third out of four in the table.
