The Federal Investigations Bureau (FIB) is the domestic security service and intelligence agency of the United Federation. It operates under the jurisdiction of the Department of Justice and reports to both the Justice Minister and Director of National Intelligence. The FIB is a key Aumarean counterintelligence, counterterrorism and criminal investigative organisation - it has jurisdiction over a number of federal crimes.

The FIB was founded in May 2023 and is the oldest Aumarean law enforcement agency.

History

The Bureau was established on 19 May 2023 as part of some intelligence-centred government developments made by President Luke Knight. It is the oldest law enforcement agency in Aumarea. The bureau's motto was adopted on 9 June 2023.

The mission statement of the Federal Investigations Bureau is: "Protect the Aumarean People and Uphold the Constitution of the United Federation".

Organisation

Organisational Structure

The FIB is organised into functional branches and the Office of the Director, which contains most administrative offices. An executive assistant director manages each branch. Each branch is then divided into offices and divisions, each headed by an assistant director.

Executive Office of the Director

The Executive Office of the Director serves as the central administrative organ of the bureau. Is is made up of a number of offices that support the director and helps administrate the bureau.

Personnel

Directors

FIB Directors are appointed by the President of the United Federation and are required to be confirmed by the United Federation Senate. Directors are appointed for terms of ten years subjects to dismissal by the President or resignation before the end of their term. Directors can be appointed for additional terms following the same procedure.

The FIB director is responsible for the day-to-day operations at the agency. Along with the deputy director, the director makes sure cases and operations are handled correctly and with the correct procedures. The director also is in charge of making sure the leadership in any one of the agency's offices is staffed with qualified agents.

Hiring Process

To become an Agent in the bureau, applicants are requited to be a minimum of 17.5 Years Old. The applicant also is required to be a full citizen of Aumarea and be in good moral standing. Applicants also have to pass a background check to be eligible for the necessary security clearance. Applicants also are required to pass a polygraph test and a fitness test.
