The February Insurgency, sometimes called the GW Insurgency, was a minor internet and real world conflict involving the Grand Duchy of Duschvaria and a group of unnamed insurgents led by a man who went by the alias of "GW" starting on February 26th, 2019. Though a minor conflict, it is believed that had the conflict expanded, it would have resulted in a civil war. The conflict officially ended on February 28th, 2019.

Events

February 26th, 2019

Without warning, on February 26th, 2019 a group of insurgents sprang up online between various close duschvarian chats used to keep in touch with citizens, these insurgents were led by a mysterious man, a duschvarian private citizen who went under the alias of "GW" as he began to violate Duschvarian law. Soon, Duschvarian officials became aware of the situation, the Grand Duke Mason I declared that military action both on the war front and home front should be taken. Meanwhile, the insurgents took four Unimen citizens as hostages. This enraged Duschvarias ally, the Universal Chat as a result. Soon, talks between Mason I and Evan I, Emperor of The Universal Chat began. After many hours of discussion, it was agreed on that if the insurgents handed back the citizens, no military action would need to be taken. But if they did not hand the citizens back, the Duschvarian Army could be free to attack. After these demands were sent to the insurgents, they refused. Thus it was decided that military action could take place.

February 27th, 2019

After some talk between Duschvarian and Unimen officials, Duschvarian troops were mobilized to defend all of the federal states incase of attack, while the online forces attacked the Insurgents in Operation Holstein Gottorp, with slight aid from the UC Government. The attack was a success, and the insurgents were captured with the exception of GW. For the rest of the day, the troops kept a eye out for enemy activity. Which did not happen.

February 28th, 2019

Soon, realizing he was defeated, GW released all of the U.C citizens and surrendered to the Duschvarians. Thus all hostilities ended a few minutes afterwards, and fighting stopped. Ending the insurgency in a Duschvarian victory.

Post Conflict

Soon, GW was exiled from the nation for one day, and was put on trial on March 2nd. The Duschvarian troops quickly returned back to their homes and all online military activity ceased. And everything was returned to a pre-insurgent situation.
