The Esreb Colony thaler was created in 2021 with the colonization of Esrey Island by Marquette.
Etymology
From the German word Thaler, an abbreviation of Joachimsthaler, after Sankt Joachimsthal, the German city in which some of the earliest thalers were minted in 1518.
Units
The units of the thaler are based off of historical German coins. The kreuzer was a coin used in southern German states until the introduction of the gold mark. The heller was used in Germany and is still used in the Czech republic.
History
The thaler was originally pegged at 1 however when the dukesmark was re-denominated the thaler was not, resulting in the current rate.
