The Empire of Whisperburg, formerly The Kingdom of Smithtown, was a micronation located on Long Island, NY in the United States of America. It was a one-man nation, consisting solely of the king.
Etymology
Whisperburg was named after the legend of Whisper the Bull. This local tale speaks of a 'Richard Smith' being given the privilege by a local native leader to take ownership of all the land he could ride around in a single day. He allegedly succeeded, riding on Whisper the Bull's back, and the land where Smithtown is today is roughly within the bounds of where he rode.
History
Whisperburg was originally known as The United Kingdom of Smithtown. The Kingdom of Smithtown was disbanded and became Whisperburg.
