The ‘’’Commune of New Sarov’’’ is a anarchic commune located in the south of England following the itchen river. It is geographically an island. Founded in 2022, the Island currently consists of one province, but borders are still unsettled and may change. The current government is a democratic council which meets to discuss issues. CNS currently has no connections to other micronations in surrounding areas, but seeks to find peace and harmony with neighbours. There is currently no military as it is the belief and nature of Sarovites to be peaceful and anti-violence.

Government and Politics

Since 2022, The Sarovite commune is fairly autonomously governed by a Duke. This, however is done semi-constitutionally in collaboration with a high council which also regularly holds meetings to discuss issues. The Duke of New Sarov is represented in the high council as chairman. Other council members include Chancellor, Commander-in-chief and Ambassadors.

  • Military and Law Enforcement

There currently is no military in the Sarovite commune as Sarovians have a strict peaceful law. However, there is a defence guard which is prepared to defend New Sarov. A civilian “neighbourhood watch” policing system is also in place, but crime rate is very low so there are few examples of where this has been necessary.

Culture

New Sarov observes and welcomes all cultures thereby creating it’s own. Many holidays are followed but notably those of Swedish origin and also Christian holidays. NS also observes and celebrates the cultural expressions of nearby micronations.

Law and Diplomacy

New Sarov seeks to maintain its peaceful status so may make treaties and alliances with other micronations. Lists of such treaties will be presented below.

  • Citizenship*

Citizenship and inclusive papers can be acquired through contact with the NS government and official processes take place on Sarovian land.

  • Sarovian Court*

The legal system of NS follows its constitution (to be displayed below). The Sarovian legal system provides not only punishments but also positive benefits for citizens who display good behaviours. These things include titles, governmental positions, Sarovian currency, and/or land. (N.B. Land in Sarovia is communally owned and used.) Punishments may include hard labor, prison time, and/or exile.
