The Roskill Declaration of Independence is the announcement created by the Kingdom of Roskill to declare independence from New Zealand. The declaration was written and approved during the fifth and final day of the Provisional Regal Council of Roskill, and was proclaimed later on 22 October 2022. The document is considered to be a unilateral declaration of independence.
The chief author, Liam Lithgow, would later become the King of Roskill.
History
On 17 October 2022, Liam Lithgow established the Provisional Regal Council. The purpose of the council of state was to fully establish the Kingdom of Roskill as an independent, sovereign nation, declaring her independence from New Zealand. The council also had the task of creating the Constitution of Roskill, the supreme law of the Republic of New Shetland, declaring the first Monarch of Roskill, and the forming of an interim government.
The last act of the Provisional Regal Council was to create this Declaration of Independence, as well as proclaiming Liam Lithgow as King of Roskill.
