Rivertown

Rivertown, the capital of Stan, is the idealized self of Columbia, South Carolina and is the gradable antonym of Sugar Water City.

Origins Naming Project

The Origins Naming Project seeks to rename some streets to account for the origins of South Carolinians hitherto underrepresented in place naming. This was totally blown open when the Hootie discovered that earth had been home to multiple supercontinents, including one called Columbia, which gave a new meaning to Assembly Street.

Upon learning that this Columbia even had a Kola craton, the Hootie thought, "Cool, huh?"

Sister Cities

Plans exist for a sister city relationship with Clovis, NM. Clovis has not yet been notified. Additional sister city relationships exist with Juzcar, Spain, Coober Pedy, Australia, Taos, New Mexico, Langley, Washington and Delhi. Stan has future sister city embassies to Vancouver and Pittsburgh and a historical embassy to Cahokia.

Two postmen deliver mail by humancar and summer toboggan. The trigoni use a single pigeon to contact the outside world.

Miscellaneous

Public Access Television shows Stan Live--a storytelling talkshow overnight from 7PM-7AM and then on repeat during the day. An orangutan named Tanner directs traffic. When Rivertown was founded, it was known as Polis, but has since relaxed. The only traces of its original identity are the official food, the Polis hotdog, as well as the Extrapolitan expanse, the name for the rest of Stan.
