The New Setepenate of Resutia (Modern Egyptian: Ⲥⲉⲧⲉⲡⲉⲛⲉⲓ︦ⲉⲧ Ⲣⲉⲥⲩϣⲓⲁ ⲉⲗ Ⲅⲉⲇⲓⲇⲁ), or simply Resutia, is a constitutional monarchy, with its monarch carrying the title of "Setepen" and its Prime Minister carrying the title of "Meraya". Resutia was established by Setepen Yassin I on the 30th of October 2022, more than a month after the dissolution of the Kingdom of Ardesoda , as a new and more ambition version of Ardesoda. Upon establishment, Resutia was quickly admitted to the Bear Commonwealth in place of the now disolved Kingdom and continues to enjoy warm relations with its members to this day.
Etymology
The name "Resutia" comes from the ancient Egyptian word "resut" literally meaning "awakening". The word "Setepen" means "chosen one" in ancient Egyptian. The word "Meraya" is the Modern Egyptian word for "Mirror", this was chosen because the Meraya is seen as someone who reflects the will of the people.The capital's name, Khodra, is a Modern Egyptian word meaning "greenery", referring to the landscape of the area.
History
Establishment
On the 30th of October 2022, Setepen Yassin I made an announcement, on the discord server of the now dissolved Kingdom of Ardesoda, stating that a major event regarding a new nation would take place later that day. In the evening, the server was revamped and was made into the official server of the New Setepenate of Resutia.
November 2022 Elections
After the establishment of the nation, elections were immediately announced to take place on the 2nd of November 2022. Three political parties ran: The Leftist Alliance, with Jamie as its leader; People's Alliance of Resutia, with Kyle Story as its leader and the Democratic Party, with Issai Domitia Caesar VI as its leader. Both the Leftist Alliance and the People's Alliance of Resutia took part in fiery debates until the election day. On the day of the election, the Leftist Alliance won by 55.56% of the votes, placing Jamie in office as Resutia's first Meraya. After 6 days, the Deputy Meraya was fired from her position after banning the leader of the opposition, Kyle Story, from parliament without a justification.
On the 13th of November, Jamie announced his resignation from his position as Meraya and selected Kyle as his successor.
The Story Government
After assuming office, the Meraya and the Setepen became occupied with personal matters, causing the government to go into an inactive state for multiple weeks. On the 19th of November, the Meraya opened multiple government positions.
The Petric Union
On the 19th of Novermber, Setepen Yassin I signed the Treaty of Union, establishing a regional union with the High Kingdom of Great Welland which was named as the "Petric Union". The union consisted of nations in the Peterborough region.
First Protectorate
On the 27th of November, Setepen Yassin I announced the ascension of the Great Republic of Rome as the first protectorate of Resutia. This protectorate was later known as "Ard El Roma" (meaning Land of the Romans in Modern Egyptian). It would later secede and regain its independence on the 24th of December.
