The Midwest Micronational Alliance (also known as the MMA) is a micronational alliance centered around the Midwest area of the United States. The alliance is made to connect the micronations in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, and Minnesota.

Joining & Approval Process

To join the MMA, nations must first fill out an application regarding which country is applying and some basic info. Next, once the nation is approved into application process, nations must agree to "chapters" in which nations may have to edit their government structure to be properly accepted. Lastly, nations must go through the "final agreement" in which nation leaders must meet Penn76 in-person or online to declare entry and welcome the new nation into the alliance.

MMA Codes

MMA is a system for encoding two letter codes for micronations, based on ISO 3166 and similar to RIS 002 and IMSO 1. IMSO 1 is maintained by the Midwest Micronational Alliance. Similar to ISO 3166, but unlike RIS 002, a change in the name of the nation warrants a code change. MMAc has 676 unique two-letter codes.

MMAc aims to be an independently-managed directory with occasional community input rather than a standard which a nation has to formally adopt. Nations looking to be listed must contact the MMA to request their nation's alpha-2 code.
