The Limbolian Council is the national legislature (parliament) of the Republic of Limbolia. It was established on the 21st of July of 2024, it meets on Discord to make choices for the people of Limbolia.

The Limbolian Council passes all laws, approved the cabinet, and supervises the work of the government. It is also responsible for adopting the state's budgets and approving the state's accounts. As set out in the Constitution of the Republic of Limbolia, the council has a lot of power over Limbolia, but the people choose who was in the council, apart from the President who is in power until she resigns.

The Council consists of 15 MPs. General elections has to be held every year as stated in the Limbolian constitution.

History

Before the establishment of the Limbolian Council, the Council of Limbol who was founded on the 24th of March 2022 was the official legislation of Limbolia, a revolution happened and the Limbolian People's Assembly replaced it, then the revolution had a huge reformation founding the Limbolian Council on the 21st of July 2024.

Revolution

The Limbolian Revolution saw the fall of the second Republic of Limbolia along with the Council of Limbol and the Limbolian People's Assembly replaced it creating a Dictatorship of the proletariat with Sylvia Andersen leading it, but it would not last long.

The Limbolian Reformation

Sylvia Andersen realized that creating the Limbolian Socialist Republic was a mistake, so she decided to disband the Socialist Republic and reform the Republic of Limbolia, she brought back the old flag, coat of arms, religion, and more which is known as the Limbolian Reformation.

Modern History

After the creation of the Limbolian Council and the reformation of the Republic of Limbolia, the Limbolian Council had an election with 100% of the vote going to the Buddhist Socialist Party, 50% of the population voted for the BSP, the other 50% didn't vote at all. The Limbolian Council also started working on a new form for reformation, making Limbolia more structurised, as Limbolia lacked a structure, it also passed a new motto for Limbolia "May all beings be happy, be free, be liberated." as a symbol of reformation. The Limbolian Council also started being active in the Micronational Community instead of sitting down and doing nothing like they had been doing historically in the old councils.

Political Parties

Any Limbolian citizen can form a political party, all they need to do is request it in the Limbolian Council, though there is currently only one political party known as Buddhist Socialist Party.

The Buddhist Socialist Party

The BSP, more commonly known as the Buddhist Socialist Party is the only political party in Limbolia, their main ideology is Buddhist Socialism but they do have some maoist elements in it. They were formed after the 3rd Republic of Limbolia was formed, they immediately made radical changes to the country to get it back up and running, that included the dissolution of the Socialist Republic of Limbolia, writing the new constitution of Limbolia, writing the 1 week plan, opening up for new political parties to register, and more.

The Buddhist Socialist Party is heavily structured after the historical Buddhist Democratic Party, and took many insperations from them and even copied their logo.
