History

Johnsonland began as the original territory of Grassland, acquired through purchase from U.S. citizens in 1976. The territories of Timberland and Riverland were subsequently acquired, also through purchase.

Politics and government

The country is run as a monarchy, with considerable input and advice from all it's subjects.

The country is self-policing.

Foreign relations

Johnsonland is on good terms with the surrounding United States. No taxes are paid to the U.S, State of Missouri, or any other foreign government or entity. To avoid conflict however, when unsolicited and unwanted tax bills are received, a donation is made to the foreign government in the requested amount. The donations are officially considered to be foreign aid.

Johnsonland is a peaceful micronation. A military is maintained for defensive purposes.

AIR FORCE The Air Force consists of one unmanned aircraft with photographic capabilities, used for intelligence and reconnaissance.

NAVY The Navy consists of three vessels, one red kayak, one blue kayak, and one inflatable unicorn.

ARMY Although established strictly for defensive purposes, the Army does possess one offensive weapon, the Johnsonland Army Band, a one man band used solely as a deterrent.

Geography and climate

Located midway between the Arctic and the equator, Johnsonland experiences a wide range of weather patterns, ranging between icy frozen tundra to sweltering humid tropics, often on the same day.

Economy

The largest and most important export by far is fresh spring water, originating in the territory of Riverland, and flowing freely into the tributaries and rivers of the United States. An estimated 1.2 billion gallons of fresh water is exported annually.

Culture and media

The official language is English. The country operates its own free press.
