Imagination, officially The Kingdom of Imagination, or unofficially referred to occasionally as The Imaginary Empire or The Empire by some locals, is a micronation with a collection of virtual states and protectorates based in Staten Island, New York, United States. These virtual states are all based on the locations referred to in the book series "Raymond Waters' Imagination" on Amazon Kindle by American author and YouTuber, Raymond Waters, who has been serving as King since June 2024.

Etymology

When working on the first book of series in the late 2010s, Waters personally thought of the word "Imagination" as a compound word with "Imagi" and "Nation". The King eventually decided to just simply name his first book "Imagination".

History

Raymond Waters released his first book in the Imagination series in early December 2022 with early releases having low sales with some being friends and family. Years prior, he claims to have come across a series of YouTube videos of people governing micronations. Though skeptical initially, Waters found it necessary in order to increase sales and recognition among a greater audience. On the night of June 14, 2024, Waters officially declared the Kingdom of Imagination on his YouTube channel, Dream Journal Projects, with himself as King.

Politics and Government

The Kingdom of Imagination tends to run with no political ideology in mind with the intention of ensuring onlookers within and out that its government does not favor one form over the other.

Early government

During the early stages of government, the King decided to have a self-proclaimed "Federal Monarchy under a Benevolent Dictatorship". The early claims was to have it reflect the region, "The United Empire of Bethari", that he governs in the game SimCity 2013 according to one of his YouTube videos. However in July 2024, the King wanted to ensure that there was no confusion on political ideologies which he strongly claims to be against. On July 7, 2024, the King officially announced on the Kingdom's WhatsApp channel that Imagination's government will simply be referred to as a Monarchy. Bethari however is still under a dictatorship though His Majesty claims to not forcefully oppress those in opposition as ones have and continue to express public or private concerns either directly or indirectly to the State.

Head of State

The King of Imagination oversees all matters with regards project approvals, developments, and needed changes. He also holds two additional crowns as King of Bethari and Emperor of Zahav though they both fall under the jurisdiction of Imagination.

The King also has the rights to appoint or dispose leaders of each province including Kings, Emperors, Presidents, Governors, and other like minded individuals. Most governing these provinces and protectorates however are AI since the King has long since expressed his compassion in modern technology.

Politics

Imagination claims to have no political ideology. The King himself believes that "no government has the right to oppress people and the Bible promotes the best system of checks and balances." It is also from these claims why Imagination has no official flag as the King has noted that some countries has brought undue idolization. Imagination's official WhatsApp channel and Instagram Pages alike has a simple white heart and yellow background to reflect the recurring covers of each book.

Law and Order

According to the series, some resorts have their own private security but claims to hand over serious cases to local authorities.

Foreign relations

According to some books in the series, Imagination has been granted rights to govern Special Districts within most resorts in the United States. Other resorts outside of the United States claim to cooperate with local and Federal laws depending on each country.

According to the series, Imagination is virtually headquartered outside of Rosewell, New Mexico, United States. There are also claims of virtual locations in the states of California and Texas with newer states being virtually acquired as newer books are released.

Economy

There is no official currency as of October 2024 but some sources claim that a currency may emerge in the near future.

Culture

Imagination claims to be a multicultural state based on arts and cultures of many ethnicities. The King himself made mention of admiring diversity with a strict policy against racism and sexism.

Educational programs in their "Learning for Life" in-person or virtual schools offer simplified basic lessons in whatever spoken or sign language is available in each country. Teen Centers and Youth Programs have also been mentioned in the series. Imagination also claims to give autonomy to Houses of Worship within provinces like Pal Town and Queens Port as long as they give "free Bible education."

All entertainment is closely monitored with the government enforcing a strict ban on pornography, spiritism, and violence with the government imposing consequences on anyone who willfully violates these regulations. The government encourages everyone to watch what they claim to be wholesome shows that would encourage stronger family bonds.
