The Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff (DCDS) is the deputy to the Chief of the Defence Staff and takes care of the corps and personnel branches of the Baustralian Armed Forces. The position is usually held by an three-fish general member of one of the three main branches of the Baustralian Armed Forces. The current DCDS is Vice-admiral Sir Harrison Pickles.
Rank insignia
The rank insignia of the DCDS is of a vice-admiral or its equivalents in the army, Lieutenant-general, and the air force, Air Marshal, depending on the branch of the DCDS.
