The Colorado Party (Spanish: Partido Colorado, lit. 'Red Party', PC) is the founding and sole ruling party of the Republic of Colorado. Since the republic’s founding on 29 October 2023, the Colorado Party has governed Colorado, and has been led by Friedrich von Colorado. Under Friedrich von Colorado’s leadership, the Colorado Party has established itself to be a national-libertarian conservative political party. The Colorado Party’s ideology has been collectively referred to as Coloradanism, which has been the official ideology of the Republic of Colorado since September 2024.
History
The Colorado Party was founded on 29 October 2023 by Friedrich von Colorado and Johann von Colorado. Since then, it has become the founding and sole ruling party of the Republic of Colorado. After the ratification of the Republican Constitution of Colorado, its role as the sole ruling party was constitutionally established.
When the constitution was amended, the Colorado Party became the leading party in the newly-established National Republican Front.
Ideology
The Colorado Party’s official ideology is Coloradanism, a combination of national and libertarian conservatism. The Colorado Party is supportive of a free market and Austrian economics.
Domestic policy
The Colorado Party is generally associated with libertarian conservative policies, although it does have dissenting centrist, socially conservative, and progressive factions.
Economic policy
The Colorado Party’s leadership believe that free markets and individual achievement are the primary factors behind economic prosperity. As a result, it is supportive of a free market and Austrian economics, and is vehemently opposed to bailouts, state-imposed regulation or nationalisation.
Foreign policy
National conservatism is one of the core components of the Colorado Party’s central ideology. Most members of the Colorado Party support isolationist policies. As a result, the Colorado Party is opposed to macronational political organisations such as the United Nations and European Union. However, the Colorado Party is supportive of macronational defence organisations such as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
Leadership
General Secretary
The general secretary of the Central Committee of the Colorado Party is the leader of the Colorado Party, the sole ruling party of the Republic of Colorado. The general secretary of the Colorado Party also serves as the Chairman of the National Military Commission, and there the paramount leader of the ROC.
According to the Colorado Party’s constitution, the general secretary is elected during a plenary session of the Central Committee. The general secretary serves as an ex officio member of the Politburo, Colorado’s de facto top decision-making body. The general secretary is also the head of the Secretariat, and sets the agenda of Central Committee and Politburo meetings.
Since the party's founding in October 2023, Friedrich von Colorado has been the general secretary.
Central Committee
The Central Committee of the Colorado Party is the highest organ when the national congress is not in session and is tasked with carrying out congress resolutions, directing all party work, and representing the Colorado Party externally. It is currently composed of 7 full members and 3 alternate members. Members are nominally elected once every five years by the National Congress of the Colorado Party. In practice, the selection process is done privately, usually through consultation of the PC’s Politburo.
The Central Committee is, formally, the "party's highest organ of authority" when the National Congress is not in a plenary session. According to the Colorado Party’s constitution, the Central Committee is vested with the power to elect the General Secretary and the members of the Politburo, as well as the National Military Commission.
National Congress
The National Congress is a party congress that is held every year. The National Congress is formally the highest body within the Colorado Party.
Symbolism
The Colorado Party primarily uses three symbols: its logo, flag, and election symbol. Two variations of its logo exist: a full logo and a half (or shortened) logo.
In addition to its three symbols, the Colorado Party also uses the national colours of the Republic of Colorado in its imagery and symbolism.
Logo
The Colorado Party uses two variations of its logo: the full (or long) logo, which has 'Colorado' (Colo in blue and rado in red) next to an all-yellow version of the Republic of Colorado's emblem, and the half logo, which has 'CO' (C in blue and O in red) placed on top of the all-yellow version of the Republic of Colorado's emblem.
