The Civil Guard, known colloquially as the Juniperian Army is the official land component of the Juniperian Armed Forces. It is titularly commanded by the Queen of Juniperia in her right as the Commander in Chief, with the Chief of Ground Staff issuing commands to the soldiers.
History
The Civil Guard was formed automatically upon the proclamation of the Juniperian monarchy and was initially commanded by Sean Villevoiche in his right as the Prime Minister of Juniperia, the office of Chief of Ground Staff was in commission until Berain Ergen assumed office and granted the office to Eric Xie, the Duke of Pavillion. Upon Xie's election as the acting Prime Minister the office returned to commission and thus the Civil Guard was defunct.
The Civil Guard is preceded by the Juniperian Army, the land component of the Republic of Juniperia and fought one war, the one between Gapla and Juniperia. The only conflict the Civil Guard in its current form has faced is the Insurgency in Westavia when the Westavian division under the Duke of Jean was deployed to Laskaridia.

The Civil Guard is composed of a Ground Forces Command, which is a branch of the Defence Council of Juniperia. The GFC issues commands in wartime and peacetime. It is composed of the highest-ranking members of the Civil Guard, appointment is made on merit and skill. Juniperia's Civil Guard is split into three infantry regiments, the Royal Charleton Grenadiers, the Royal Juniperian Rifles, the Royal Juniperian Reserve Regiment and four branches, the Ground Forces Branch, the Legal Services Branch, the Medical Branch and the Reserve Branch.
