Chief of the Queenslandian Ground Staff (CQGS) has been the title of the professional head of the Queenslandian Ground Forces since 2015. The CGS is a member of both the Chiefs of Staff Committee and the Army Board. Since 2017, the post has been immediately subordinate to the Chief of the Defence Staff, the post held by the professional head of the British Armed Forces.
The current Chief of the Queenslandian Ground Staff is Lieutenant General Sir Michael Francis Alan, having succeeded his predecessor–Lieutenant General Sir Gerard Hofman Michel in 20 January 2023.

The rank insignia of the CGS is usually that of a general. The insignia for a General is a scimitar and a baton crossed below four Gadus stars. Above all is the royal crown.
