Chet Chetson

Chet, also known as Chet Chetson or Chet Chetman, is an American micronationalist politician. As of joining the micronationalist world late February 2022, He is renowned for his ironic political views and is widely considered to be unprofessional by many more serious micronationalist politicains. Notably Nicolas Caiazzo, who has on many occasions disagreed with Chet's remarks. Chet began his political career as a senator in the Terra Excelsior Republic where he quickly broke off from the Democratic Party of Excelsior and formed his new party, the previously, Juche-Thatcherist Party of Brooklynites of Excelsior, and later, the Economist Party. He then later became Minister of Trade and unofficially Vice-vice president of Excelsior . However, his citizenship was revoked (and later reinstated) after a heavily disputed coup.

Chet however, has claimed his unironic political views are that he is a Socialist American-Hegemonist

The Economist party

The Economist party was originally founded as the Juche-Thatcherist Party of Brooklynites of Excelsior, or for short, Juche-Thatcherist party as a protest to the fact the Democratic Party was no longer as militarist as once was. The Party follows the ideology of Juche Thatcherism, the belief that niche ideologies are the best ones, and has tried to include as many together as possible, though this has eventually just led them back to Juche-Thatcherism. Juche-Thatcherism in practice however can only be described as Hyper-National, Hyper-Authoritarian, Free Market, Monarcho-Socialism. The party was eventually re-branded to the Economist Party in negotiations with Nicolas Caiazzo despite reluctance from the party.

Relations with Silas Wurnbash

Chet had unknowingly met Silas Wurnbash in summer of 2021 through a series of complicated stories around a mafia leader facing communist activists. The two were later reunited through Excelsioran politics where they became close allies despite being in separate parties. Chet has made hundreds of remarks claiming the "Silas best pres" meaning that Wurnbash was the best president Excelsior had ever seen. Chet's admiration for Silas has led strings of propaganda idolizing Silas. His positive, eccentric view towards Wurnbash had impacted his later decisions and could have led him to start the March 30th coup.

Controversy And The Coup

On March 30, 2022, Chet had gone on a rant about how the Excelsioran government should denounce France because "[The] Eiffel Tower is ugly," which devolved into racism towards French people saying "The French are dirty and poor and marry their teachers." Seeing a lack of response from the President and Chancellor Chet declared himself the new President of Excelsior as a temporary president until Wurnbash returned. He then held an election winning 2 votes with 1 vote for opposition in order to certify his rule as president. During his fifty minutes of time as president he declared martial law because the Excelsioran government was under a coup, proceeding to enact only three policies: That a 37 excel bill be created with his face, the denouncing of France, and the removal of all ministers, previous cabinet members and the Chancellor, all in order to maintain Wurnbash's rule as he saw them as opposition.
