Badu Park II
Badu Park II (locally known as Badu Park Number Triangle) is a small enclave, (resembling a trailer park) governed and populated by members of the Japittyist Religion, with Badu Park II being the official headquarters of the Japittyist Religion as a whole.
History
Badu Park II was first conceived by George Lachman as a 'cheap alternative to the holy caliphate'. However, the ultra-orthodox Order of the Number Blue rejected the idea, stating that Japittyists should not have their own nation until Japitty Cumquat annexes the Inner West and establishes the Caliphate. The Order of the Number Blue's concerns were aggressively ignored by Lachman, who promptly denounced the Order of the Number Blue, stating 'they are fake Japittyists and spies for the Dick Smith Holy Warfare Brigade'. George Lachman soon set about acquiring land for Badu Park II or Badu Park Number Triangle (in accordance to the traditional Japittyist numeral system), with Lachman deciding on a plot of land in the Upper Nepean conservation area near Japitty Cumquat's new airport, much to the disgust of Japitty himself. Japitt Cumquat soon released a statement calling the attempt to establish a second Badu Park 'bogus' and 'a stupid idea', as well as calling George Lachman 'a false prophet and a conman'. Despite the strong opposition on part of Cumquat, Lachman instructed members from all sways of the Japittyist Religion to migrate to the 'discount holy caliphate', on the condition that members 'bring their own housing'. Sways of members (mainly from the Orthodox Rite, with a few members of the Badu Park Fraternity of Religion as well) began to migrate Badu Park II.
Many of the houses were devoid of power (due to a lack of a central power grid) and basic amenities. George Lachman soon began to be confronted by the growing 'power crisis' but refused to fix it due 'to a religious responsibility to not spoon feed members'. Outrage grew when citizens found that Lachman's cabin had power, after he had bought a portable generator. Citizens demanded that Lachman 'hand over the power for the sake of Japitty', with Lachman finally folding and handing over his personal generator. After this the 'Badu Park Number Triangle Power Committee' was established to manage power in the town, with a 'central power facility' holding the generator.
Three weeks after the 'migration' Badu Park II began to resemble more of a 'town' with George Lachman opening a 'shopping mall' (a cabin, resembling a yard sale) and a Luxury Resort (a row of 2 cabins with three beds in each) with a "pool" (a large hole in the ground filled with water). As of current times the "town" resembles a trailer park, with the population fo 98. The town has now become the capital of the Orthodox Rite with the 'capital temple of the caliphate' moved there. The town is also a hub for Japitt Air Lines, with the companies head office being located in Badu Park II. The town has also become a major point of friction between the two main factions of Japittyism (the Orthodox Rite & Badu Park Fraternity of Religion) and the Order of the Number Blue with the group repeatedly holding protests against the existence of the town, with these protests achieving nothing but further alienating the Order of The Number Blue from the rest of Japittyism. However the protests reportedly made Japitty Cumquat happy.
Demographics
In August 2022 the town had a population of around 98, with 100% of the towns residents being followers of Japittyism. The population is majority white and male with only 48% of the population being female and 10% being of other ethnicity.
Housing
Most citizens have largely dysfunctional campervans, without running water or power, even though the Badu Park Number Triangle Power Committee has attempted to provide more power, the single generator is mostly used to power the Guest Houses, and George Lachman's personal 2 storey cabin, despite efforts to divert this power.
Economy
The town has no traditional economy, so to speak but Badu Park II does encourage "charitable work" with most of the population being 'employed' (forced) in a factory (a collection of small tin huts) producing counterfeit Gucci and Louis Vutton bags, run by George Lachman with the income from the factory going directly to his personal bank account. Members have little say in their professions within the enclave, and many who protest the conditions within the town are harshly punished.
Tourist Economy
The enclave has somewhat of a pariah status, disallowing non believers to enter the city, and threatening trespassers with violence. Law enforcement has been called numerous times to dispel the Japittyist settlers after nearby residents have complained about aggressive and violent behaviour, with some national park visitors reporting being threatened with firearms, with the police conducting a weapons search of the premises, finding no sign of firearms on the property. While restricting access to non-believers, Japittyists are encouraged to visit on a "religious tour" with festivals and sermons being commonplace. Some non-believers have been allowed to enter on a "conversion retreat" which involves members attempting to brainwash willing participants in the "Japitt Luxury Resort" otherwise known as the Guest Houses, which are by far some of the best furnished buildings in the enclave, possessing luxuries such as flushing toilets and oil heaters, as well as mattresses on the beds.
Sports
Rugby team
Badu Park II has a small but dedicated sport culture with the town having its own rugby 'team' called the 'Badu Park II Japitties'. The team is horrible, having never won a game against teams from other local towns, They were even beat by the Badu Park Terrorists (despite the game being very close).
Teams comprised of non-believers attend the enclave to compete in the rugby games, and are regularly met with negative reception by the residents. More conservative members of the enclave have petitioned to eliminate sporting activities for non-believers, to no avail.
E-Sports Team
The town also hosts an e-sports team called Japitty's E-sports, with the team reportedly excelling in competitive Raid: Shadow Legends 'tournaments'. However the team is incompetent in every other game.
Swimming Competitions
Badu Park II hosts a monthly 'swimming competition' at the town pool, despite over 70% of the town not knowing how to swim. Fatalities are reportedly high at the event with the ambulance being called almost every race.
Infrastructure & Geography
The town is located in the Upper Nepan national park. The town has one road connecting it to the M31 highway. The road is in poor condition with potholes and ground fractures littered throught.
Airport
The town's air traffic is served by Japitty the Unwilling International Airport, which is a hub for Japitt Air Lines who link Badu Park II with Canberra, Katoomba, Nowra and Sydney. The airport has very basic amenities such as a small terminal and 'emergency services' (a man with a bucket of water). The airport's runway is capable of accommodating aircraft up to the size of an ATR-42.
Rail Network
The town also has a rudimentary rail network (a wheelless go cart operating on old mine-cart tracks) connecting the town to Nepan Dam. The 'train' runs once a day, with it reaching speeds of over 110 km/h. The train has an atrocious safety record with an average of two de-railings a week, with an average of five people dying on the journey a week. most of these accidents are caused by the go-karts inability to brake as well as the usually inexperienced conductors. At the end of a successful journey down the mountain, a conductor has to push the go-kart back up the mountain. Four conductors have reportedly died pushing the train back up the rails with a reported number of seven being severely injured.
