The Alliance of the Modern Left (French: Alliance de la gauche moderne, Spanish: Alianza de la izquierda moderna; AML) is an intermicronational organization of centre-left and left-wing political parties. It consists mainly of social-democratic and democratic-socialist parties. The organization was formed in January 2018 and it is chaired by Lukáš Čuřík, Prime Minister of Fyrinia.
The AML considers itself as an alliance of left-wing political parties, which fight for democracy, freedom, equality, justice and solidarity with ordinary people. It also supports environmentalism (environmental protection and improvement of the health of the environment), pacifism (opposition to war, militarism, or violence) and social progressivism. In worldwide politics, the AML considers itself as a micronational alternative to the Socialist International and the Progressive Alliance. In the European Union, it sympathizes with the Party of European Socialists and the Party of the European Left.
The organization refuses revolutionary and authoritarian left-wing political ideologies like Marxism-Leninism or Maoism. It also criticizes injustice of capitalism and economic liberal political ideologies like laissez-faire and right-wing politics at all.
