Aldo Práxedes Laureano Carmichael Aguirre (born September 1, 1995) is a Hispanic Micronationalist known within the Hispanic Micronationalist Community for his political Blog, El Heraldo Liberal (The Liberal Herald). He is a successful businessman who founded the Carmichael Media Group, owner company of the Carmichael Journal Ltd. and the Carmichael Publishing Ltd.
History
Aldo Carmichael is one of the Founding Fathers of Hispanova, and an old friend of Juan Carlos Valls O'Donnell. O'Donnell, who first was a socialist, was introduced to capitalistic philosophy and ethics by Carmichael.
Carmichael founded The Liberal Herald, a digital newspaper that approaches Hispanova's politics from a classical liberal point of view. However, The Herald fell into inactivity until it was revamped on October 20, 2013.
In 2012, he helped O'Donnell build the Birepublic of Hispanova and unify the Hispanic Micronationalist Movement. O'Donnell was elected Consul of the Republic and chose Carmichael as Proconsul (his Deputy Minister), but almost immediately Carmichael resigned and left office after a controversy between The Liberal Herald and a communist newspaper called The Tribune of Lenin had took place days before discussing the role of government.
After less than a year of inactivity, the project of Hispanova is re-emerging and a second Constitution is being drafted by Carmichael himself and the other Founding Fathers.
Business career
Aldo Carmichael is one of the most successful entrepreneurs within the Hispanic micronationalist community. He founded and is the current chairman and owner of the Carmichael Media Group, a hispanovite company and thriving media conglomerate. He is the CEO of CMG's two subsidiaries, Carmichael Journal Ltd. and Carmichael Publishing Ltd., which edit and publish The Liberal Herald and, after November 30, 2013, The Southerner Gazette too.
Ideology
Carmichael bears the names of three great Spanish liberal public figures of the past and present: Práxedes after Práxedes Mateo Sagasta (leader of the XIX century Spanish Liberal Party), Laureano after Laureano López Rodó (technocrat economist who revamped Spanish economy in the early 1960) and Aguirre after Esperanza Aguirre y Gil de Biedma, Spanish People's Party politician and former President of the Community of Madrid.
Carmichael has been somewhat considered an essayist and a philosopher among his hispanovite fellow contrymen. He is a staunch supporter of Ayn Rand's Objectivism and one of the most outspoken classical liberals within the Hispanova political community. He's an advocate of atheism, capitalism, constitutional republicanism and individual freedoms. He also supports reason and scientific research.
In the other hand, Carmichael opposes socialism, welfare State, illiberal democracy, religious fanaticism and altruistic philosophies. He abhors Immanuel Kant deeply, and instead praises Aristotle's work on Logic and Ethics.
