A Justification of Johnston's Creek Militarism is a book by Johnston's Creek militant and JCLA leader Aaron Chair, which was finished by his successor, David Toolchest, after Aaron's death in 2020. The book is a political essay attempting to justify a militaristic campaign by the Johnston's Creek Liberation Army against the Badu Park Municipal Government and its leader Japitty Cumquat, which has been described as terroristic in nature. The campaign began after Badu Park became hostile and occupied regions of the creek which are considered vital cultural hubs. The book is considered a definitive synopsis of JCLA goals and ideals, as well as their ideological justification for engaging in terrorist activities.
Background
The Republic of Johnston's Creek, which was established in 2017, was abolished after Badu Parkian forces occupied the capital, North Virginia City, which the republic was unable to recover from, causing it to collapse. This caused Aaron Chair and fellow militant David Toolchest to establish the Johnston's Creek Liberation Army, or JCLA, which is a separatist militant organisation formed by Johnston's Creek dissidents who's aim is to remove Badu Parkian influence in Johnston's Creek. The JCLA began with a vandalism campaign, defacing both Badu Parkian and Australian public property, before beginning terrorist activities in early 2020. The JCLA turned into a guerrilla force during the First Johnston's Creek War, in which the JCLA allied with the Imperial Park Colonisation Pact, mainly the Empire of Douglas Grant Park, along with the People's Front, a Badu Parkian anti-Japittyist militant group, in an attempt to forcefully dissolve the Badu Parkian military occupation of Johnston's Creek. The JCLA lost the war, suffering heavy casualties, beginning the Johnston's Creek Conflict, an ongoing geopolitical crisis in Johnston's Creek which is yet to see a resolution. The JCLA claims the conflict will not stop until Badu Park either agrees to cease the occupation in Johnston's Creek, or is invaded and dissolved.
The book was written as a response to journalistic criticism and eventually legal opposition to the movement by both the Australian and Badu Parkian governments. Aaron saw that his movement was losing popularity and being portrayed in a negative light by many journalist outlets and law enforcement press releases, and conceived of the idea to write a political essay justifying his cause, hoping it would convince journalists that the JCLA was akin to an anti-authoritarian liberation movement, not a terrorist organisation, despite the blatant and unconcealed terrorist activity the group engages in.
