2023 Jacktopian Elections

Jacktopia will hold its fifth presidential and fifth leader elections in May 2023, the first since 2021. Candidates began to announce their candidacy on February 21, 2023. The deadline will be in early April for presidential candidates and late April for leader candidates.

Four candidates have thus far announced their candidacy for President in 2023. Incumbent President Jack Kelley and Vice President Jon Wascher announced that their candidacies on February 20, 2023. Leader 4 and 2021 candidate Gabe Read announced his candidacy the next day. Diego Marez, a former Jacktopian military leader, announced his candidacy on February 26. A primary election will be held in April, where the top two candidates will advance to the general election in May. The winner of the general election becomes President, while the loser becomes Vice President.

Candidates for leader elections will not announce their candidacies before the Presidential primary. Incumbent Leader 1 Ryan Push is expected to run for reelection.

Leader 2

Candidates for leader elections will not announce their candidacies before the Presidential primary. It is unknown whether incumbent Leader 2 Bryson Buschmeyer will run for reelection or not.

Leader 3

Candidates for leader elections will not announce their candidacies before the Presidential primary. Incumbent Leader 3 Alvaro Figueroa is not expected to run for reelection.

Leader 4

Candidates for leader elections will not announce their candidacies before the Presidential primary. Incumbent Leader 4 Gabe Read is currently running for President. If Read loses the Presidential primary, he is expected to run for reelection.

Leader 5

Candidates for leader elections will not announce their candidacies before the Presidential primary. It is unknown whether incumbent Leader 5 Gavin Potter will run for reelection or not.
