Elected President

James Mark
SDP

The 2021 Valencian presidential election took place on 17 April 2021. It was the first presidential election since the creation of the Valencian Republic. The only candidate to file for election was James Mark of the Social Democratic Party, who was endorsed by the Party of Democratic Socialism.

Electoral system

The President of the Valencian Republic is elected on a secret ballot in up to 3 rounds by the members of the Valencian Chamber of Deputies every 10 months.

Aftermath

19 days after being elected, Mark was removed from his post after being deemed inactive by the Chamber of Deputies. This was mostly instigated by Prime Minister Sean Dunkerque requesting appointment to the Council Presidency, and Mark took over 48 hours to appoint O'Lachtna, after promising to do it the morning after the request. Mark has not said a single word in the Valencian Discord server since the removal of office as of 17 May 2021.

Notes

  1. Endorsed by PDS as part of the negotiations between the two.
