The Senate of Zározemě was the unicameral parliament of the Zározemě Republic and transitional legislature of Occidia from December 6, 2013, until the adoption of the Occidian constitution on March 7, 2014.
History
The parliamentary institutions in Zározemě have their beginnings in the late-2013 era of the Empire of New Europe. The Provisional Cabinet, dissolved on December 6, 2013, serves as the basis for the functions and workings of the Senate until a constitution was adopted. One month into session members of the Freedom Party of New Europe, who made up the majority, began advocating change to Zározemě starting with its name. Most members were strong advocates of the older imperial ideologies and proposed a name change with a new flag. More boldly they advocated placing the Provisional President, the former New European Emperor on the throne of this new nation. On March 7, 2014, after passing the various proposals the Zározemě Senat was replaced with the Landtag of Occidia.
