The National Assembly is the legislative body of the Medopolanian Republic, Adult citizens elect the council's members, who are called Assemblypersons, for four year terms. The National Assembly possesses the federal government's legislative power, along with the separate constitutional right of citizen's initiative. For a law to pass, it must be passed by both the National Council and the National Assembly.
