The Volksgendarmerie, was known before as Militarischekompanien or Volkspolizei, is the military police for the Principality of Hohenzollern, the Volksgendarmerie is an autonomous force independent from the People's Landguard and regulated by the Minister of Justice. The task of the Volksgendarmerieis to protect and rebel criminal activities from the principality and to support the Ministry of Internal Security in their activities. The Volksgendarmerie or translated in english "population gendarmerie", "police of the citizens" are in charge of keeping peace in the territories of the principality. The division is an autonomous entity controlled by the Ministry of Justice and directly controlled by the Minister and the Commissioner
