History
The great sir William Mevd once looked at the viscountess Aria, and said with wise words, "Visnet."
This inspired Aria to create a micronation using the help of William.

Meaning
Visnet is literally Dutch for 'fish net'. The name invokes a sense of dread, as if you're going to be captured like a salmon in a net.
