User project:Editor Hall of Fame
The MicroWiki Editors Hall of Fame aims to honour editors of the free micronational encyclopaedia for their valuable contributions in improving the coverage of micronations and micronationalism on MicroWiki. Think of it not as an exclusive club, but rather as a way of honouring and showcasing our appreciate for individuals who have contributed significantly to the development of the wiki. Editors are as important as the content; without editors, there are no contributions. And with no contributions, the growth of MicroWiki stagnates. Established on 30 September 2022 by ZabëlleNB, a new editor may be inducted at any time.
You may nominate an editor at the project talk page. Please do not nominate yourself!
What we look for
Editors must show:
- Civility, professional demeanour, and a tendency to avoid conflict; always assume good faith, and when in doubt take it to the talk page;
- A tendency to not think of editing as a competition: all editors are cohorts and collaboration is key, and—of course—edit count is often meaningless;
- Fine decision making in general editing: everyone of us will make mistakes, but we must learn from them and improve;
- Respect to other editors; whether an administrator, more experienced, having had a registered account for longer or holding a higher edit count, all editors are equal in their contributions to the wiki.
Criteria
Any improvement to the wiki, whether on-wiki or in the behind-the-scenes of MicroWiki, is enough to be awarded. This includes and is not limited to:
- Copyediting, reverting vandalism or threats from pages, writing articles, engaging in repetitive or laborious edits, updating pages or lists, fixing typographical errors or formatting mistakes, uploading or fixing images, creating templates, helping new editors learn the ropes, making large edits, creating and running bots, maintaining professionalism and civility, showing kindness and appreciation, reviewing good article or featured picture nominations, proposing new additions to the wiki, translating articles to and from English, converting files to working SVGs, repairing links, fixing, creating or adding categories, providing references and in-line citations to previously unsourced or controversial articles, showing excellent administrative skills, creating, categorising or maintaining useful redirects, contributing to disambiguation pages and thanking fellow editors for their edits.
In order to be eligible, the editor in question must:
- Not currently be blocked;
- Have an edit count of at least 500;
- Have registered an account at least three years ago (before 1 November 2021)

AtomCZ | November 2022 | The ultimate WikiGnome and undertaker of strenuous tasks no other editor wishes to do. Having amassed over 22,000 edits since he registered an account on 18 November 2017, AtomCZ is active on both the English and Czech language editions of MicroWiki. Active about every few weeks in sporadic sessions—some lasting several days—AtomCZ has fixed a countless number of image formatting errors, made over two thousand edits towards correcting double redirects, frequently reverted vandalism, fixed infobox templates with duplicate or since deprecated fields and marked thousands of unused files for deletion. Serving as a Patroller between 24 June 2020 and 19 May 2021, AtomCZ approved and rejected over a thousand articles from the erstwhile Moderation Log, a system whereby articles created by newly registered accounts had to first be approved by a patroller or administrator. AtomCZ was later promoted to the role of administrator on 15 February 2022, and has since deleted more than 650 pages—mostly unused and duplicate files—among performing other administrative tasks. AtomCZ also holds the record for most edits made on MicroWiki in a single day, having made 1,215 on 13 November 2020, a fact proudly displayed on his userpage. Finally, it would be criminal not to mention his lighthearted attitude towards editing and occasional comedic edit summaries, with just a glance at his userpage accurately demonstrating his humours persona. |
Jeffrey Hodgson[a] | September 2022 | One of the first major editors of MicroWiki—all at ten years old. While one might expect an individual of such an age to be unable to contribute constructively to an encyclopaedia, the edits Hodgson made to MicroWiki prove otherwise. Indeed, his age did show in his initial, jocular edits and he professed a tendency for controversy, such as his bitter rivalry with Shireroth.org—a geofiction wiki. But despite this, Hodgson became one of the first MicroWiki editors to edit articles other than his own—Satirocity—and maintain the main page. Arriving on MicroWiki on 30 April 2006, Hodgson quickly became an active editor, regularly updating the main page several times a day and adding new entries to the list of micronations. Additionally, now deleted edit revisions of his accounts and IP addresses show that he also added categories, tweaked templates, created redirects and even fixed minor spelling mistakes on occasion. On 18 August 2006, Fabian Schneider, the founder of MicroWiki who had become inactive shortly after founding it on 27 May 2005, made a brief return to appoint Hodgson as the first ever administrator of the wiki. This, coupled with the fact that Schneider did not edit, made Hodgson the de facto sole manager of MicroWiki. By his permanent departure in May 2007, Hodgson had made at least 912 edits to the wiki, and held the highest edit count for 998 days between 1 May 2006 and 23 January 2009. |
